The rabbit will likely be shaking his/her head alot and scratching if it is ear mites. Instead of mineral oil, we were told by our vet to use vegetable oil. Mineral oil is apparently bad for them to ingest (off their paws if scratching their ears)....it is a petroleum byproduct after all. We put about a tbsp of veg oil in a mini puppy/kitten bottle, cut a tiny hole in the nipple and could squeeze a few drops in the ear. We massaged it in a little. We reapplied once more after a week and had no problems with mites since (over a year and a half). Try a natural method first before jumping to nasty chemicals. Veg oil would help dry skin too. ;)

I used Ivermectin for Sheep when Kreacher got ear mites. Was a scary time. We only had him a couple days when his eyes started to roll and he walked in circles. Did the does in the ears on both him and Dobby. It was like a miracle. 24 hours, WHAM, he was back to stable. Had no problems after. Dr. Joe said it would be good to treat once a year as preventive measurement. Because you never know.
