How much meat do you get from them?
I would like to keep a couple for breeding for our own and family meat use and sell any extras.
I dont want to have the really big pigs around all the time so I have been looking for good meat yield hogs in smaller size.
Would love more info on these.:fl

I won't be able to tell you until after we butcher these. We have sold all the piglets that were born here. We've sold all over the state and even in Virginia. We sold three to a family in Markham, VA not too far from our daughter who lives in Centreville. She was able to deliver our last piglet to them a couple of weeks ago. We go to Virginia about every two months to pick up non-gmo feed. I don't know how important that is to you. But I can give you the name and location of the feed store if you are interested. We are not organic but we do use non-gmo feed. I can see if someone from the Mulefoot Hog group can give me some info for you, if you are interested. I am looking forward to putting up lard. The stuff in the store has way to many chemicals in it for me.

Sure I'll take all the info you can or want to get.
I have 2 blue butt piglets 10 wks old now so I'm set for meat for now,but I would like smaller hogs if we try our hands at breeding.
Thanks for helping me.

I found this site and thought that you might be able to get some info off of it for yourself. http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/Articles/Cooking-Tips--Techniques-642/pork-cut-yield-per-hog.aspx We had the regular white pig in CT we used for just meat (every year we would raise a couple), but these pigs are real sweet. Good nature and seem to be easy keepers. Check out the AMHA: http://mulefootpigs.tripod.com/ and then there is the ALBC website: http://www.albc-usa.org/cpl/wtchlist.html. When we have our hogs butchered I'll let you know the weights of everything, too.

We haven't butchered yet, will keep you posted. We're going to do a piglet for Christmas dinner this year. We're looking into some of the butchering places. Was not happy with the place that did our beef. Hopefully soon. Not sure if we're going to have two done or not. The boar really had some nice piglets, so we're considering keeping him and not processing him yet.
