Just a side comment, my husband and I have a dairy farm and I have worked in AI for about 15 years.
The calves you bottle raise (bulls) can be more aggressive, especially if they were pets. It is called testosterone
The more tame they are, the fewer brakes they have because they have lost their respect for humans. Some of our most silly heifers on our farm are the pets...they are more likely to butt you (playing), jump on you, or treat you like another heifer.
