My DD's Rott with my animals

He is doing fantastic. Here he is playing with 1 of my new puppies. He is a year old now. The puppy in this picture is 5 months old. He is fantastic with them. He has also started going in with my female goats and chickens. My does recently had babies. He loves them. Very protective and good with everyone. I think it is because he feels like he has a job now. He is never aggresive with any of the animals. If he feels the animals are being threatened he lets out a few warning barks like back off. And alerts everyone to danger. I just wish my DD would let me keep him. She has gotten much better with him. He to me shows what a well socalized Rott should be. Sweet loving and so gentle.

A good dog is worth it's weight in gold on a farm. Glad he's doing so well.

I recently met a big rottweiler. This dog was huge, his paws were the size of the palms of my hands. He was a former "junk yard dog". He was given to a shelter because his vet bills were too expensive for his former owner ever since he was diagnosed with cancer. He was just recently adopted out to a nice local family. He has to be one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. A real gentle giant. Unfortunatley the vet can't cure his cancer, just make him live a little longer.

Rottweilers are a very misunderstood breed.

I so agree with you. It makes me so sad to hear about his cancer. I was not sure how he was going to turn out. My DD got him and thought he could sit in her room with her in the dark and she did not have to do anything with him. She thought I was joking about getting rid of him or getting giving him to me. Until she saw the posts looking for a new home for him. She did a complete turnaround then. I am so amazed at how good he is. I would trust him with my life and my animals lives.
