Well, the ears are pretty obvious, and hard to hide the "Swiss" markings on the face, they last for generations.

But, I don't know how to put this delicately..... While Mama is a hansome girl, he babies are prettier than their mama.
:)
But, people say the same thing about my daughter.

I know it. I was pleasantly pleased. Daisy is sweet, but not a looker, bless her.

Lol, I read it. I think my girls are prettier than I am. So, what do you think about Daisy. I am torn between a ND mix or a pygmy mix, but i don't know much about goat breeds.

I see what you mean about the Swiss markings. Those does have very little Alpine in them. Their sire is only 1/8 Alpine. The other 7/8 is Nubian

Well, I raise N.D.s.
She seems to have both, and not more one than the other.
But, when I look at her head, it seems wide. Almost like a Togg.
So, I think she has more than N.D. and Pygmy going on there.

But, while I raise and show ND's, I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for someone who had a "homestead" interest.

Your babies who are part Nubian, part Alpine and part "Daisy" woud probably fit that more than anything. "Hybrid Vigor", that's what they will have going for them
I hope you will have some great milkers
:)

You are not the first person to mention Toggenburg as a possible part of her breed make up. She was my first goat andIi bought her at an auction, just to have a goat. Lilly(and her baby), my Nubian /Alpine mix came a few weeks later. I have milked Daisy a little since the kids were born and she milks easy. I think the does will grow to be a good utility goat. They should give enough milk to supply a family that just wants some milk. It's a plus that they turned out so cute. I hope they keep that part. My buck has good breeding, and it looks as though he passed that on.

I am curious as to why you would not recommend NDs for homesteading. Too late for me, as we have already taken the plunge, but as you are a breeder, I'd love your insight. My guesses are: less milk? Smaller teats? Hmmmmm....

Rinks go, beautiful babies! Love the coloring!
