I wanted to do a quick check on my hives before this big storm came. I gave my hive a winter patty earlier, and wanted to make sure they were doing okay, and put the entrance reducer in. First I did the entrance reducer and I was shocked to see they are still bringing in pollen! I have no idea where they are getting it from, but with 2 different colors, it's more than one source.

I quickly opened the hive to check on the winter patty, and they are making quick work at it. So all is looking great right now. Looks like they are doing great going into winter.:weee

(I know nothing about bees, but I'm enjoying hearing/learning from those of you who have them.)

Congrats - that sounds like good news!

Since my inspection, we have had some of the heaviest rainfall storms in a long time, so I'm glad I got the patty in before the storms. With a horrible drought, I'll take all the rain we can get. So my bees aren't going to be coming out for a while. It's warm storms, so it's not really cold, just soaking wet.
