I cleaned off the tin overhang while waiting for tree guy to confirm.

There are some holes but it looks promising.

Look what was underneath the leaves!

Break time!

I laid the 2x4s on the stack of panels, which was closer to level than the ground. I marked where the brackets should be, drilled pilot holes, then put the screws in.

I disassembled and brought the two 2x4x16 and two 2x4x8 boards to the chosen location. I placed the little fence sections next to the boards to keep them in place.

After reattaching the brackets I drilled pilot holes in the ends and added 3" screws for more stability.

Corners still aren't perfect but better than the first hoop coop.

Before I add the cattle panels I am going to try to level the long board on the south side (woods).

The flock watched me for a while, but I had another audience...

The cattle panels are in place, woo!

I used bungee cords to help to control the panels:

Getting the first two panels in place was the hardest. I was trying to overlap them, but the panels did not cooperate. I wound up zip-tying them to hold them together:

Instead of fence staples I used plumbing strap to attach the cattle panels:

As long as the 16' boards are supporting the coop it's okay that the end boards are not touching the ground in places...which is good because my yard is very uneven!

Hot shower here I come...
