All I need now is a door latch and I’m done…, and a strip of something to cover the gap between the end of the tarp and the front of the cow panel. I’m thinking maybe cut dog food bag in strips and gorilla duct tape?

I wanted a 10’ X 12’ tarp, best I could do was 9’4” X 11’4””. Everything else was too big in one side or both. Don’t need 4’ of extra tarp to deal with.

I put a piece of tin above the hardware cloth to cover the SHORT coming of the tarp!

The back looks like a false front saloon. Beer for chickens!

I got the tarp on, it looks ok, it just needs to last a couple of months.

The front really does look like a false front saloon.
Whiskey for my men and beer for my horses (and chickens)

Here’s that gap. Any ideas how I can cover that?

It’s kinda nice inside.

I didn't do much on the coop, I was physically dragging from yesterday's building marathon, and it's damp and chilly, so I just puttered.

I raked where the guys cut the brush but missed getting the branches on the burn pile. Look what I found!

Yes! It's a piece of metal that I might be able to use as a patch for the hole in the tin.

I cleaned the chickens' waterer, and rinsed and filled two rainbarrels, and dug a small ditch to divert water away from the new coop.

It's supposed to rain, cold rain, for the next few days. I'm not on a strict timetable so I think I will continue with my hoop coop construction next weekend. Hopefully it will be dry and mild.

Looks great to me! It's going to be a perfect shelter for those little meaties.
I would totally feed bag & tape that strip. It'll get the job done & not add any extra cost. Winner, winner chicken dinner!

That's a huge difference!!! What a nice space. You're finding all kinds of treasure, congrats. I can't wait to see the finished coop.
