my mini is so fat...is something wrong with him?

He looks more like a Shetland than a mini.

He could stand to lose a bit of weight. Even the yellowed grass in the pasture is still edible. What do you think wild horses eat in the winter?

Might be time for a grazing muzzle.

He does look nice in the first picture

I agree with the above 100% and the faster you curb his chub the longer the lil guy will last ponys/minis can founder with the extra weight very fast.

Even with the few extra lbs he is a cutie!
