I'm sorry, I've yet to see a "cute" buck.
(Smelly, hairy, stinky, obnoxious, escaping, pains in the butt, the lot of them...but a necessary evil.)

I don't even think *my* bucks are "cute"...

But...as far as bucks go...they weren't bad. Is that better? ;)

hey crazy

sounds like you weren't ready for the boys.

you need to pick your path on how and what breeds etc. you want to raise and "just be ready for them" when you head in that direction.

it sounds best to move these bucks on right now and just sit back and think about how you want to proceed.

if ya are not ready, you are not ready..LOL

I know, been there. I got directly into Boer goats with pedigree and found out boer cross were actually better for my farm.

So take your time. Sometimes we get animals we think we are ready for and then realize it isn't the way we want to proceed. I know, hard to sell critters we own.

So what direction are you shooting for now--minis first and meat goats later?

I do meat goats.

I want mini milkers, I want to provide for my family if theres any extra I have plenty of people who want it but I really thought about it and ya know I see alot of meat goats online and they aren't selling and I don't want to invest not only $$ but the time to them.
My husbands friend is muslim and use to go get goats from a person until he raised the price. Then he came up with the idea of us raising them and selling them to his friends but he wants it soo cheap and I am not willing to spend all my time and effort for him to profit. My husband doesn't understand that it takes alot of time and $$ to raise them and raise them right. I want to take the best care of my animals not semi good care.
Soo I am going to only have a few milkers and the extra that are born can be used for meat.

Sounds like a great plan!

Provide for your family with milk and meat and possibly make some money on the side.....that is smart.

Yes I know about the hard work and low profit on animals. Never nice is it...everyone wants you to raise them and practically sell them for free..LOL

Our time sure is important !!

If you start slow and low, you can always increase and branch out into other directions. No need to rush into anything--find those right minis for you and get started!

last night at bunco i had a women ask me if there's any milk left over she would like to try some and maybe buy it.
so that's cool.
Well I have a pygmy doe who's about to have her baby any day and I know she's not going to probably work so I also have an alpine-boer-nubian mix that I got for milking .I really want to try with nigerians I guess or mini nubians I can't decide ... I have access to pure Nigerians and Nigi buck services if I want .
I know it's really depends on the animals not just breed.
Yes I think small time farmers are really getting " you know what"
these days, people want everything so cheap that they don't understand your time is worth that $$$ Like being a mother, we get payed in dirty diapers and kisses and with goats it's poop and laughs and Entertainment :)
