Evening all. It has been quite a long time since I was last on this group... so I was asked to fetch a young goat kid 2 weeks ago as she would not get up and the farmer did not have time to deal with her. Got her to my house and realised she had joint ill/navel ill. She was 2 weeks old. Got hold of my vet and he recommended all the meds she would need. Thankfully I have it all on my farm. Treated her and after a week she started walking/hobbling around. By the end of the week she was well away on her feet. Monday morning arrives and I go to give her a bottle and she can't even stand up. Legs splayed no control and very limp. I loaded her up and headed to the vet. She has severe joint ill and her prognosis by the vet I very guarded... she is now on a full meds regime... can anyone give me some advice on eny extra I can do to help her. She cannot stand at all now and she is taking in so little milk I'm really not sure what else I can do for her...

Call your vet. Maybe he has a miracle. I believe it may now be septic.

My vet said 4 Ss of sheep...sick sheep seldom survive. They tend to not show when sick until too late to turn around.

May have to put her down at this point. Not trying to be unkind, but you have to figure out the cost of trying to save her with a very poor prognosis if she is now septic and letting her go. :hugs
