Poor thing. I can't even imagine how confused she must be. I'm sure she thinks she's been kidnapped by a band of amateur milk thieves. Like Home Alone with a goat. Sigh. I just feel bad for her. I know I didn't get her milked out so I worry that she'll be hurting tonight.

I'm sure she will be fine. If she has been being milked once per day, her production has decreased. Even if you completely skipped a milking she would not get too tight.
How far into lactation is she?

I would give the new goat some Probios (when goats are stressed the gut bacteria can get out of balance). I would administer some Nutridrench goat vitamin drench as per the labeling as well. This should help insure that the new addition does not get scours related to all the stress. Our protocol for a new addition to the herd is to quarantine as you have done. We have a dog run with a dogloo dog house as well, and we do not take anyone's word when they say they vaccinate so we vaccinate a goat with the appropriate vaccinations and we incorporate the feed they have been on with our feed and gradually change them over to our feed and way of feeding. Congrats on your new addition.

She had twins found dead on Feb 2. According to seller she's not even a year old yet. Was kept in pen with ND buck. Seller though she would probably have been due around now. She wasn't sure. Lots of info I'm not sure about but our vet is coming out this afternoon to give her a thorough going over, do blood work on her and also on Hazel (our too small Nubian that is still too small.)
