One of my boer does had a baby yesterday and didn't want to take care of her baby. So I milked the mama and am now going to start bottle feeding.

Is it ok if I start feeding her some whole cows milk. I will use this recipe:

1 gallon Whole Milk
1 can Evaporated Milk
1 cup Cultured Buttermilk

Or is there a better recipe?

any help would be appreciated.

I would milk the mom for several days to gather all that good colostrum. After that, I would just use whole cows milk. I have had great success with it.

I don't add anything to the cows milk, either....when I don't have enough goat milk to go around. So far this year I've frozen 30 gallons, so we have plenty.

Ok so just use regular whole milk. It doesn't need to have anything special?
