Brought home a new cow (well, older heifer) yesterday. She's around 4ish, judging just on looks, gotta check her teeth. around 40" at the hip, 800lbs and sleeved 6mo bred. I'm callin her Speckles :) Best me and a few others can come up with was a ShorthornX. Yall got any good guesses? My plan is to AI her to a mini jersey around April'ish.

I'd guess either a shorthorn mix or possibly an Ayrshire (or mix). She's cute!

She is just so tiny! She's smaller then my Jersey (taped at 42" at the hip)! Love her to bits though. She's in isolation for a few more days, so I can keep an eye on her.

I had thought she might be a GuernseyX Lowline Red Angus? Or the Ayrshire was a thought too. Very stout lil girl, good temperment and very well put together, confirmationally. Even her udder (what little of it there is right now) looks good, not stretched out and saggy.

Hopefully I can get some better pics today, now that I found the cord for my digital camera :)

I have my doubts that she's 4 years old. She could be more around 15 to 18 months old, judging by her looks and your posted weight, though the picture isn't all that great to begin with.

Looking at her rear she has what is called a "funnel-butt" which is typical of dairy and dairy-crosses, no matter what body condition they're in, and she's in great body condition. She's too red to be a Guernsey, and the colouration makes me think she's more Ayrshire than anything. From a colour genetics stand point, if she was a Red Angus cross she wouldn't be having all those patches, she would be MUCH more solid than that. And if she were Shorthorn X Ayrshire she'd either be more solid or have a more roan coat than what she has now. So I think she's just an Ayrshire heifer straight up, IMHO.

Airshire deff in the mix and dominant - but hard to tell off pic.
If she's 4 years old then why isnt she a mum - do you know the history or maybe she aint going to ever get in calf for you - hope I'm wrong on that

I would say maybe an ayrshirexjersey cross??? We have alot of jersey crosses at work and her marking look very similar to those. But they were crosses with a red holstein. Im just not sure. I would say definetly an Ayrshire of some sort. If shes 4 and hasnt calved yet, id wonder why???!!!
