Welcome to Backyard Herds from Upper Michigan!
I too have rabbits and goats, along with chickens and an LGD! :) Do you raise your rabbits for show, pets, meat, etc? I'm raising mine both for meat and to sell! :)

Here's another big Howdy and Welcome from the Great Lone Star State, where the stars at night are big and bright! Glad you found us! Grab yourself a beverage from yonder table and come here and sit a spell, prop your feet up and get comfy. You'll feel at home in no time.

We all started somewhere and all have stories to share of what went right, what didn't go so right, and what the heck was I thinking doing that, too. Ask questions, post pictures and jump in the conversation when you want.

Hello there, and welcome to the herd @nmadore1! We're so glad to have you here, and there are tons of good folks here that would love to share their knowledge of herd animals with you. We have a really good crowd of goat and rabbit folks here- when I first started, I was asking a good deal of questions about my bunnies and I always got fast, and well thought out replies. The people here know what they're talking about.

I know how it feels to not have a network of people locally to share info with. You won't ever find a lack of that here! Make sure to check out the sister sites- Backyard Chickens, The Easy Garden, and Sufficient Self too.

We'd love to hear more about your animals and the goals you have, so stay and chat awhile!

Greetings again from Alabama!

:welcome

Welcome from California. Yeah for someone that can relate to my hot dry summers. Seems that a lot people are from places where it rains in the summer and it is so humid you can swim without a pool...I feel very alone sometimes. ;)

Goats are great, but watch out, we seem to make addicts out of people. Two goats are not near enough. :hide

Welcome from VA. I used to have Boer & Boer/Nubian crosses. I loved them & felt it was always a good cross. Now, I have milk goats only but, "almost" had a couple Boer crosses. Left the auction so as not to buy more!!! Like they said -- we can make you an addict! o_O What started as a couple are now at 7 does. Hey, a lot less than the 100 I used to keep. Milking will slow you down from adding more but, what a wonderful experience!

You'll have great milk, cheeses, butter, extra to feed chickens, pigs --- see how this "self-sufficient" stuff works?? :frow Hang-on!

I am new to all of this but I am intending to raise them for meat and possibly sell them as pets. Also I was hoping to find someone who would be willing to purchase the hides from the butchered animals.
