new from MO, visiting from BYC

hi all,
new here, been hanging'on BYC for a couple of months...
I'm recently from SW Missouri, happily transplanted from So Cal.
I've got full sized Lamancha goats, little nubian goats, mixed breed wool sheep, draft horses, LGDs, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas, and cats...
happy to meet folks here, I've learned a bunch on BYC, expect that'll be true here too.

now here's what I absolutely NEED to know... WHY does the friendly waving cow have 3 "fingers" on her front hooves?

it's not the fingers, per se, but why THREE?
