Hello!

My name is Nicole and I'm so happy to have found this forum! Although with the amount of time I've spent reading posts the past two days I'm not sure my husband shares my feelings. :)

Anyways, we are getting 3 nigerian dwarf wethers in April and a dozen or so chicks in May. We are currently finishing up their housing and I'm researching as much as I can to prepare for our new arrivals.

In the past I've owned dogs, pygmy goats (as a child), guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, mice, cats, iguanas, short tailed opossums, bred hedgehogs for 8 years, bred snakes for two and we currently own a greek tortoise, blue tongue skink, bearded dragon, 2 corn snakes, a boa, a hedgehog and a very spoiled guinea pig. I work for a small animal hospital as a veterinary assistant and absolutely love spending time with, talking about or drawing animals.

I also have 2 beautiful daughters and a very understanding hubby (or as much as he can be - he is not an animal person and he married an animal lover!)

We live in Southern NH and I can't wait to get started on my "mini farm". These animals will be more pets than anything else although we will enjoy the eggs from our chickens when the time comes.

Can't wait to get to know everyone!

Nicole

Welcome from Illinois.

Do you have a good understanding of chicken math? :D

Build a bigger coop than you think you need. Once you have chickens you are going to want more.

Ha ha! Yes I have heard. I already went bigger than I wanted to when it came to ordering time. There are just too many lovely breeds and color variations to choose from.

Thanks for the welcome elevan! :D
