Hello all my name is Jesse and I am new to the self suffiecient lifestyle. We had started out with 4 mixed breed hens in our chicken flock about 2 years ago. Since then we have gained 1 barred rock rooster, 1 silver laced wyandotte rooster with 4 silver laced wyandotte hens, and recently just got 10 cornish rock cross fryer chickens. The fryer's are only about a week and a half old. We are currently thinking about adding a meat rabbit trio to your homestead, so joined this group to learn more about rabbits and breedind them for strictly meat.

Welcome, from Texas! I don't do rabbits but there's lots of folks here who do. I'm sure they'll be dropping by and saying howdy!

Greetings and welcome to BYH from another in NE Texas. The previous Texan is from way down south in TX :duc:hide Glad you decided to join us! As stated, we have a pretty good sized active group of Rabbitteers and I'm sure if you spend a little time browsing the various rabbit threads you'll get to "meet" many of them. There's also quite a bit of good info and experience shared. We have pet folks, show folks, and meat folks, so cover all the bases. Make yourself at home!

ETA: Please consider putting at least your general location in your profile. When you ask for help/advice, much will depend on your location (cold/hot/wet/dry/predators/etc).

Hi :) Nice selection of chickens, I have one red laced cornish hen. I have never eaten rabbit but growing up we had a friend that raised them for meat.
