Hi, my name is Malia and I am new to byh. I have been on byc for some time now, and have way too many chickens, but an also starting in rex rabbits. I have a herd of 5 currently. 3 does, 2 bucks. One doe/buck are related, but the other 3 are not to anyone else. Wanting to get into the showing aspect eventually., but also raising for meat. Will also have goats eventually too, once we fence our acreage.

Greetings and welcome to BYH. We have a lot of Rabbiteers and goat folks here and active on the site. There's also a wealth of info in the various threads in both sections. Please browse around and jump, in when you feel the need/desire. That's a pretty rabbit in your avatar. Many of us here are also on the other sister sites including BYC. Make yourself at home!

What I love is that my husband, self professed city boy, has totally jumped on the "mini" farm band wagon. He wants to get goats next year, is talking about getting a couple of llamas instead of lsg dog for herd protection, and he's also trying to talk me into a pig. He also asked if we'd have enough space for a cow!!

I only wish he'd help with the butchering aspect of it. He's "helped" with a few chicken and ducks, but only after they have been bled and had the heads removed. He's ok with the plucking basically. I don't know why it freaks him out...:hu.

Welcome to BYH from upstate NY!! We are happy to have you. There are tons of goat and rabbit people here. Check out the Backyard Chickens website. It has a lot more poultry people. I raise Dutch rabbits for showing, so feel free to ask questions. And we all love pictures!!!
