Loving the herd life
Here she is! First two pics were from yesterday.
The rope was temporary. She LOVES her shelter. She was pretty big yesterday, we thought she was pregnant but now I'm wondering if it may have been what she was being fed.
So here she is today! Since we're not drinking the milk yet we let our daughter milk her some after we had gotten most. The jar below was the second quart. I will add that we still did a teat dip, teaching our daughter how to clean up before and after. She won't be out there without us but still a good lesson for her.![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Here's her bag after my first attempt which I will say was a challenge. Her milk did NOT want to come out at first. I massaged her but that didn't seem to do much good so I just gently kept attempting to milk till it finally came out. That left side was really slow.
Front right hoof, I could only get this shot bc she got startled so we just left her alone for now. He said he cleaned up the hooves but from what I remember I'd say they still need trimming. Am I right?
Please excuse the mess, but this shows where we have her.
I'd guess it's about 100ft x100ft.
