Nope on the baking soda. Like the rocks idea Ksalvagno...might use that idea to slow down the girls on the milk stand. Or maybe some golfballs that we have sitting in the barn for some reason (none of us play golf so not sure where they came from).

No, I don't put out free choice baking soda. It can leach out the minerals from the animals.

In addition they generally eat less minerals when their is baking soda out freely - exacerbating the problem. No free choice baking soda here.
