I am not familiar with the layout of this site, so I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. I am just wondering what a good protocal for deworming goats is. I have had goats for about 8 years, but I still feel like a newbie on alot of things. I have 1 Nubian wether, (apx 10-11yrs old)1 Nubian/Boer wether (8yrs), 1 Nubian/Boer doe (7yr) and 1 Suffolk x ewe ( 7yr not a goat, I know, but don't tell her that). In the past I have wormed them with and without fecals being done prior. I used to use Panacur, but have been using Valbazen the past 1 1/2yrs. I usually worm spring/fall. It seems like every time it comes time to worm, I feel like I'm not doing it right. I can never seem to find a straight answer on line or from the vets either. So, I'm wondering, what do you use to worm, how often (like 3 times at 10 day intervals?) and how many times a year. I agree that it is always best to do a fecal first, so you know what you are dealing with and as not to have the worms build up a resistance. Sometimes, it isn't always easy for me to do that, though. I have called a few local large animal vets, and without a fecal, they won't give me much info. I will also add that I did worm them with Valbazen 6 days ago. I wish I had waited to do so. Thanks so much for any help!
