Ok, we bought three lambs from the sale barn (go ahead I know sale barn lol) anyway we tried to find the healthiest lambs.(We've had them two weeks) Two seem to be doing great, bright eyed, playful, eating and drinking well. The only problem is runny nose but even as a new momma not going to freak out because its a dirt floor they are on and its been cold/warm/cold and whatever else mother nature throws at us. Anyway the third lamb Cocoa seemed to be doing ok had the runny nose like the others but had scours so we wormed them all last weekend. That cured that problem and she was fine this morning but I noticed I didnt see her out roaming around with the others most of the day and tonight when I went out there she was laying down. So I walked up to her and she didnt get up. She is breathing kinda wheezy and doesnt want to eat. She had about two mouthfuls of grain, drank a little water and didnt want any hay. We are giving her penicillin but I"m not sure exactly how much I can give her without giving her too much. She weighs about 50 lbs. Should I give her a shot twice a day? once a day? how much can I give? I also have tylan 50. I have it for my chickens but would it be better to give that to her instead of penicillin? They are both antibiotics but I want to make sure what I give her is doing the best job. Any help would be appreciated. She is so sweet and I would hate to lose her to a respiratory infection. Thanks in advance!
