newbie intro.

Hey everyone, just wanted to take a few min. to introduce myself to everyone on the board. We are a family of 5(all women/young ladies other than myself).
We live in South West Wisconsin. Getting pretty cold here... yet, not nearly as cold as it is going to get this winter! We Raise Californians for meat. We show at the local fair. Last year was the first year for this, and I thought my daughter did pretty well. She took two seconds, a 3rd... and an 8th (out of 16).
I plan to get a few rabbits out of Wayne Coffey's line of rabbits(I hope anyway) and hope to do better at the fair next year!
We have 10 adults right now, without a buck as I sold them due to pinched hind quarters. I plan to have 6 producing does, and a buck or two for them.. We also have about 16 fryers heading off to the freezer in just a couple of weeks.

We have been raising rabbits for about 2years now, and hope to get better animals as we learn more and more. We started for the sole purpose of meat production. My kids' showing came as a product of friends that thought it would be fun to talk the kids into showing at the fair..lol, though I don't mind. It was fun last year, and hope for it to be more and more fun the more we show.

Anyway, thought I would just take a min. or two to introduce our little "farm" though we only live on 4 acres, and have just chickens, and rabbits. Lots of good times! If/when I learn how to post a picture, I'll post a few to introduce the critters.

It sounds like you ladies lead an interesting life and I am looking forward to hearing about your farm, family and the goings on there!!!!
I raise rabbits too, but I don't show them. Standard Rex.

From Texas! I currently have 'feed store special' rabbits that we breed for dog food but I want to get American blues when time and money allow it because while the feed store buns are enough to keep my pup happy, they aren't meaty enough to be worth the trouble to feed people. Also, this awkward cow is my favorite emote. If I was a cow, I'd be this one hehe
