Op I am new to goats and learning.

I did hear however some where that once the teats start facing outward like they are on your doe that it will be very soon. The milk is so full and filling up in her nipples and such that it pushes them outward like that.

Good luck with the process...to all involved!

The ligaments will feel like two pencils, one on either side of her spine, running diagonally outward, near the tail. Hard like pencils under the skin. Once you find them you'll know it for sure. If you have a doe about to pop and you are not sure, feel for the ligaments on any other goat and once you know what you are feeling for, go back and feel the doe that is torturing you. :p

They just go away don't they but only like in less then 12 hours before they kid. So would they feel the same or do they get bigger on the pregnant doe or?

They soften up before kidding. All ligaments will soften up....it allows the babies more room to come out if the does' joints are a bit loose. You may even notice the does' hocks and fetlocks are a bit wobbly when she walks, too, if you have an eye for such things.

The "rule" is that the ligaments will seem to disappear (they are really just very soft, too soft to feel) within 12 hours of kidding. Just remember, though, that rule is #2. Rule #1 is "Goats are liars!" :p Sometimes the ligaments will soften up but not completely, so you can still feel them but they are notably softer. Sometimes this will go on for days, coming and going, and sometimes just a short time before delivery. But it is still an important indicator, and give us something to do.
