Old goats

Our boys (Nigies, and the only ones we have SO FAR) are fast approaching their 1st b-day! They are still very small compared to their bio-mom, so I'm beginning to wonder if they'll end-up smaller than she. They had a brother who bloated and died about 6 months ago who was 3 yrs and he was larger than Tulip (bio-mom). I dunno. I know they won't be full-grown until about 2 yrs (right?), but for now, I'm hoping that their small stature will serve us well in the breeding we're attempting. Sometimes size DOES matter, and small is good for doelings!

(edited to add) Also, I guess I'm like @Latestarter, I'm the oldest goat around here. I think he and I are about the same age, too!! lol I'm not sensitive about it though. I'll soon be 55 and halfway to my 110 mark! That's how old I'd like to be IF I'm not just a giant pain in everyone's backside by then!

My oldest would be Cookie. She´s 3 now. I haven´t been doing this that long but learned a lot in a relevantly short time being that most times I have to be their vet. People here are just too lazy to follow thru and their word means ......._____! She´s the one with moonspots which I post in picture of the week and Should I let my goat eat coffee grounds...

Penny​

My three registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats were Penny (April 9, 2003), Heidi and her mother Dixie (Feb 15, 2003). They all had blue eyes.

Got them in 2005...and now have only Heidi left...she has some moonspots and is over 11 years old now (Jan 31, 2005).

Heidi has to tote the GOAT load here but shares her life with my Jacobs and has her own personal llama guardian, Puella.

I have to go roust out my goat binder to know how old Heidi and Dixie were...but we found that the Nigerian does lived to be over ten years of age for us.
