So, due to a miscommunication with my power company my electric was shut off Tuesday. All the buckets were clean and fresh and full. Bad news, it took them until noon today (Friday) to turn it back on. I was able to keep one bucket full with what I had left in the pressure tank, but everything else was either empty or murky (geese). So I notice one of my lambs, the smaller of twins, is walking slightly hunched, not trying to nurse or crying for momma, and she has light foam around her lips (kind of like rabbits when they get too hot) I managed to catch her ( she felt very light and didn't fight too much) and took her over to get a drink of water, she drank a decent amount but I didn't let her get too much. I just went to check on her again and she was laying in almost the same spot, but did yell a little when I picked her up.

I was thinking of trying to get her to take a bottle a little later if she doesn't improve, maybe mom dried up being choosy over the water? All symptoms I see say bloat but she is not 'bloated' at all, if anything a little sunken in. Any ideas on other things I can do for this girl? She is one of only 3 ewe lambs I had this year and I don't want to lose her!

What does her manure look like? Does she have a temp.? Have you noticed any coughing or grinding of teeth?
When was the last time you wormed the sheep?

I don't see a one month old lamb that is still nursing needing that much water. Does the mom still have milk? I would look for something else, wormy or ?? I agree check temp.

Ok, finally got back from town. Took me forever to find the little girl, she'd moved to the other side of the pasture mom was way away. I brought her inside, she walked around a little, temp is 101.6 (it's about 75-80 degrees outside. I tried giving her a bottle she drank a little then seemed to gag on it, she really looked like she wanted to throw up. That might have been my fault I am a little clumsy with bottles. I went out to do some other things with the sheep and mom ran over to where I found the little one and started calling for her ignoring the other lamb. So I took the little one back out to her. She let them both nurse for a minute then walked off, not sure if they actually got anything. The little one followed for a bit then laid back down. I did manage to get a tiny bit of milk from mom (nothing like I can get from my other ewes) it was white. No idea on the poo, and it is past when I would like them to be wormed. Her eyelids and gums are pinkish red.

I'm going to see if I can get her to the vet in the morning, should I bring her in for the night? It's been getting down to about 60 here at night.

Update on little one, pneumonia and coccidia, severe dehydration. Vet did blood work, said she shouldn't be alive and offered to keep her personally for the weekend, but only gave her about a 30% chance to make it.
She's charging me a whopping overnight fee of $10 :) I really love my vet.

Vet called me this morning and said the little girl was up and 'bopping around' I picked her up and she'd jumped out of her basket and was walking around the office while the assistant followed her holding the IV bag. Now I have her inside, she's too hoarse to call for mom so mom isn't too interested and knocked her over by accident. She's licking everything and making friends with the dogs, I got her to drink some milk out of a cup, she wouldn't take a bottle. So hopefully she continues to do well!

Here she is in the car coming home. Wow, that's big... sorry!
