She was born 5/7/13 She's a little Shetland girl. She's enjoying licking everything in my room and drinking milk from a dish like a champ and starting to follow me around and loves to have her chin scratched. Amazing how a 'wild' lamb can get tame so quickly, I never mess with them usually until they are weaned other than when they are first born.

Those little Shetlands are funny sheep! I have new lamb every year that is a pocket sheep...always following you around, climbing in your lap, wanting scratches. It is amazing how these reportedly "wild" sheep can be so friendly. In fact, I've found that once you have them tamed, they are much friendlier than our big sheep. And it doesn't take as long to win them over. Generally a couple chest scratches will do.

Your baby is pretty cute! Love the coloring. I don't have any that pattern - I have mostly gulmogets with a few katmogets and solids thrown in. I do have spots on a bunch, but they were only visible when the sheep were lambs.

My ram, Walter, loves to have his face rubbed under his eyes and his jaw. When he's had enough of that he likes a good hard scratch behind the horns. Kinda worried me the first time he asked for that one cause he puts his head down like he's gonna head butt you, but he just wants a scratch. He's always up my butt whenever I'm trying to get work done.

I don't know if Shetlands are more nosy than other sheep, but mine are into everything. My geese hatched out some goslings this spring. When they took a walk through the pasture they had 6 ewes trotting after them trying to check out the little ones. The geese were honking and hissing but having no luck chasing those nosy sheep away!
