Hi all! My wife and I have been raising chickens for 8 months, but after years of talking I finally broke. 2 days ago we got our first cows, 2 Texas Long Horns. It has been fun so far and hope to learn more and possibly add value here.

congratulations! i love taking pictures of the longhorns raised around here, i think they are beautiful but i would be scared to death to raise them. i know they are not aggressive or anything but i would hate to work around those horns.

We have a few around here on some of the farms but are seeing them disappear. Our local slaughter house won't take them anymore because of the horns. :\

Incredible animals!:)

:welcome from Oregon! Yeah my DH is a butcher, and when he worked on a kill floor, it made me nervous to hear him working with long horns. They would only go to the farm, not let them go to the kill floor. Just not enough room.
