Finally getting a break in the heat wave here! It's a lovely 84 with rain this morning.

I am continuing to downsize but I think the mini part is complete. Sending three minis off to their new homes this month and two are confirmed in foal to Ez! I still have the Arabians looking for new homes though. So far I have done well with not adding any new horses either! :hide

Some pictures just because.... I know pictures are well liked here!

The red mare on the right, Nancy, is one of the ones in foal to Ez and going to a new home.

As usual, it is all relative! 84°F is hot, and WAY too hot for a morning temp! ;)
True on the relativity part! After a week of triple digits and 80% humidity it is a nice break. I'll remind you in the winter though when I think anything over 1ft of snow or below 32F is just not livable! I'll take my greenhouse weather over that any day! :idunno😆

84 is a cool breeze. 102 is HOT!
Yes! Texans understand how lovely it feels! I think 80 is my favorite temperature! It felt so good in Florida in February and it feels great now.

How many are you keeping to show this year? And how many are you training for other owners?

When are the shows?
I've missed out on this year's show season so I will just go to Nationals again to visit for a day or two, like I did last year. If all goes well, I'll start showing again in the spring. I don't have any client horses here right now, just a mare to be bred to Ez. Once the Arabians go, the number of horses I have will be down to single digits....just barely lol, but it will be better than having 15 through the winter.

Confused here -- I THOUGHT the Arabs we're where you were going and got those lovely mares. 🤷
Me too. Didn't you sell most of your minis to go into Arabs and the larger carriage ponies/horses?
You are both correct! I was going to breed them for driving horses. But after I went to Florida I realized they were not going to work if I wanted to be competitive in CDE when I discovered that there was a reason they use Dutch harness horses so much. That is how I ended up with Lamborghini and unfortunately I can't keep everyone, especially when it comes to the big horses. Showing CDE and Carriage is costly enough without breeding too so I am just enjoying working with my big gelding! It will also be nice to have the Arabs off my feed and hay bill over the winter as they are huge eaters.
Hopefully that explains it!
And I am now officially out of the smaller minis, with the exception of Tomas who I will always have. All of the others are ponies/large minis. I even sold a few of them though.
