I'm trying to prepare goat pedigrees for my Nigerian Dwarfs based on their ADGA and AGS registrations/pedigrees, and I'm confused on quite a few levels.

I'll start on the AGS side, both does have Goodwood Tom Thumb in their background a couple of times, and the pedigree from AGS lists him as:

ARMCH Goodwood tom Thumb ++*S 'E'
D-2431 52015 03 1993

I think I understand this until I get to the 'E" D-2431 52015 03 1993 part, can someone please explain?

But then in Ruminations, he's listed as Goodwood Tom Thumb ++*S 'E' 2*D, 2*M EEV91

Similiarly, I'm lost with the 'E' 2*D, 2*M although I think I understand the EEV91 part. Since he's a boy, how can he have D & M in his pedigree?

:idunno

Also, is there a "proper" way to combine the ADGA and AGS registry performance information?

Thanks for the links, but for AGS what I was trying to find was what the 'E' or 'VG' meant - I don't see that in the explanations. I can guess that it would be excellent or very good, but excellent or very good what?

And also what the numbers below the name (ex: D-2431 52015 03 1993) on the pedigree from AGS meant - if anything.

I took a look at your website and I think I'll just follow your example, plus I was having a heck of a time getting the pedigree on my website and I see there's a handy little html pedigree generator that I can use too!

Progress :weee

With AGS, the E and VG are classification scores, similar to LA in ADGA.

Classification is explained on the AGS site under Education.

the other #s are explained in the link, having to do with scoring (AR), final #s being the year scored. OR, LOL, in retrospect...they might be his registration # and microchip

I think that part was his registration number and microchip. However, I think I've got the pedigrees sort of figure out, I did a post on my blog trying to explain it and also got a good start on my goats pedigrees.

If you get a chance, take a look at the explanation and let me know if that's right or where I messed up. It's difficult to sort through at first. :D
