Enjoying happy chaos. Last night’s zoomies were so fascinating I was too mesmerized not to watch even though it hurt even to stand.

Fen is spooky fast and agile and Boone has always struggled to keep up. Looks like this weekend he got in tune with the body he’s been residing in for past 5 months, as Fen was flying his fastest and Boone kept up easily with his long, ground eating lope.
Not only that, but he has learned both to anticipate Fen’s directions and calculate where to cut him off to either:
1. grab him on his way past
2. T-Bone him, or #3 and apparently his favorite;
3. Reaching his long arm out and clotheslining him on his way past.

Remarkably entertaining!

Slept most of the day yesterday, but still feel pretty drained and emotionally unstable. Fen is much more affectionate with me than before. I hope that lasts.
Boone has had rash on inside thighs. Been there awhile. Now there’s a spot on other side. Don’t know if it’s from running through raspberries or allergy or what, so calling vet to spend even more $ we don’t have. Will talk to her about neutering Fen also, since he is old enough and has run of the ranch. I don’t want any accidental breedings
Hoping to start a couple of sourdough loaves today to thank cowboy and his wife for all their help. I also bought a pattern for a cute rag horse I am hoping to make, since I still haven’t figured out the next step on my doll

One of the grands I have never been allowed to see (his wife hates us😰) just had a baby girl. ❤️ So that makes 17 grands and 3 great grands 😍. Its a bummer living in a different state from them all.

Time for another nap. I hope I’m not going into a new flare since fatigue is a big part of that 🫤

Got two boules of sourdough in the fridge. Will bake ‘em on Wednesday.
Boone sees vet on Thurs in Burns. It will be good to get him out in public again as it has been too long. I will have to put a pinch collar on him, just in case, but it’s more likely he won’t pull me, as long as Fen stays home.

I will need to get Boone’s softcrate back into the ‘burb so we can eat lunch, as he is not ready for public access outside of feedstore, etc. Hard to remember he’s only 6 mo, looking at him. He doesn’t look like a puppy at all, except for his slightly too large feet 😉

We need a bolt for the front door so Fen will quit opening it then sitting in the doorway. Fly and mosquito season are on the way so I def don’t want the door open.

Finally got the last of the vinyl stuff on the island, so technically, my kitchen is finally done. (Yay!!)

My teeth hurt and my jaw has been locked up since yesterday. It makes my head and neck hurt. Or maybe my neck makes my head and jaw hurt…who knows? I’ll try muscle relaxers tonight and see if it helps or not. It definitely can’t hurt and at the very least might help me sleep tonight.

Fen is still paying more attention to me than usual. Be nice if it continues, as long as Boone doesn’t get pushy. Hoping tomorrow is a good day so I can work on Talsie’s rag horse. I found some yellow fleece and some white fleece, so I figured it can be a palomino 😂
If it comes out ok, I’ll take a picture. I’d like to make one for all of the ranch babies as soon as my shoulder heals

Boone is slowly learning to pick up snd hand me things. He does it with a small tug, like I use on the door, and now he picks up and hands me my phone by the cord. He doesn’t quite have the knack of opening the back door to let himself out yet, but he’s closer and has figured out to stick his snoot in the opening before it closes behind Fen, if he wants to follow. I was still pretty exhausted last night so I went to bed at 8 and Boone came and snuggled for an hour. It felt like he drained all the stress away just by contact.
We spent the day working on handling so it will be easier for the vet to check his rash So far he’s doing well. We found an old peanut butter jar under the couch that Fen must have hidden while counter surfing, before we got Boone. I had to get down flat on the floor to crawl under the foot rest and reach it. Boone helped by flea biting my ears , my nose, and laying on my back. We definitely need to work on technique and I am going to find a willing volunteer to help me up from the floor while Boone is with me. I needed help from a Security guard at the hospital after putting Fen’s boots on (salted sidewalks). No problem with strangers assisting me with Fen, because he is catatonic when he has boots on.

At any rate, Boone was content working for an hour trying to get his tongue to the bottom of the jar where there was still a little peanut butter

Fen had a great day, going on self guided sniffaris in multiple big pastures while Randy checked pivots and fixed tractors. He’s so happy as a ranch dog, although he still sits with the front door open in case the dogs from the cabin across from us come to pick on him. New lock going on the door Friday if we can find one in Burns. Then he will either have to sit outside or watch through the window. He’s so much more settled and happier going to work with Randy. He’s learned a new recall already, if Randy waves an arm over his head it means come. He can see it from several acres away so it works well. I wonder if he will find any sheds? We did a lot of practice around the back yard and pasture and he’s really good at it.

Purchasing a short jack chain to tie Boone to the couch so I don’t have to put him outside when training with Fen.

I baked ine boule last night but I’m not happy with the way it turned out. My scoring didn’t work at all. Maybe I misted it too much. I want to slice it open to check the crumb but then I couldn’t give it away…unless I put the entire loaf in the slicer…hmmm 🤔

Time to go back to sleep. Cya all manana

Have any of the orig gold Listerine? Try that on Boone's itchy spots. It's actually a good solvent for hot spots. I've used on horses, dogs, cats, goats. Has some anti fungal/bacterial elements. Worth a shot & cheap.
