Snowed all afternoon yesterday.
Making cookies today and I am going to share with you only, the best, most closely guarded cookie recipe of my life. Not too sweet, but melts in your mouth, only a minute to throw together.

Cathy’s Shortbread
★★★★★
cookies

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter
9 Tblspn powdered sugar
1 cup cornstarch
2 cups flour
pinch salt

Directions:
1 Cream butter and sugar
2 Add a pinch of salt and cornstarch
3 Gradually add flour
4 Knead, pat to thickness, prick (I like to use cookie cutters)
5 Bake @ 250 for 75 min
6 Cool on rack

I like to drizzle melted chocolate on these, or dip 1/2 in it.

You won’t regret making these!

Oh yeah - those sound deeeeeelish. Going to do cookies over the next week. I'll definitely try those!!!!!
And the photo -- now that's Christmas Card beautiful.
Oh, btw, these cookies don’t brown. If they change color, they are burned. They should come out of the oven close to same color they go in.

I haven't baked Christmas cookies in a few years, but one of my favorites is shortbread. I have used a recipe that is just butter, granulated sugar, and flour...nothing else. Baking time is 20 minutes as I recall, and yes, they shouldn't brown.

The cornstarch makes these silky and they literally melt in your mouth. I love these cookies. There have been wars fought over them in our family 😂
