Tried to breed Is-a-doe this morning. The bucks were all excited. She wasn’t having any of it. I want to process the extra buck today but can’t find my bolt gun and certainly can’t afford to replace it, especially with 4 of the 17 grands having birthdays this month.

Got horses fed. TheMan is hurting. Be glad when he gets that hip replaced. Scheduled for sometime on 20th so we have to rent a room in hotel on 19th. I will have to drive him the 4 hr home after surgery. I don’t want to tell him but it won’t be pleasant. I’ve made that trip with broken ribs, collapsed lung, detached bicep, two shoulder surgeries, two knee replacements and a hip replacement. It’s a long miserable drive 😳

I need to decide what I want to do with tomatoes today.
Too tired to think about it now. I think I’ll take a nap then decide.

Crush and can - simple and fast. Of course there’s the ketchup/bbq sauce a little more time consuming. Or freeze (fastest but takes freezer space). Or soup - freeze in ziplocks flat so they take less space.

Oh and for anything that required peeling I kept the peels, dried them out in the oven and then powdered them in the blender to add to things later for a little extra flavor.

I’ve had some cognitive issues this past week so no surprise to find out after Fen so carefully moved chick out of dilapidated shed, that I locked all but 2 chicks OUT of the coop and run. :he
When I went out in afternoon, they were in horse pastures, garden and shed. ☹️
It took Fen some effort but he managed to get them all rounded up for me and back inside.

A little disgusted as THIS is the bale of hay he brought me to feed horses. Not sure how I am to keep them alive while he recovers from surgery.

In town again today for last 2 tests before Randy’s joint replacement next week.
Fen is being a very gud boi today. First time EVER I’ve been able to drop his leash. Usually he’s pulling my arm off (thank you, e-collar!)The vibration gets his attention. I have the rubber covers on probes so I don’t accidentally shock him.

Looks like Anatolian pup is due to be born day before Fen’s birthday, in Oct. So looks like we will be driving to Ft Collins Dec/Jan to pick him up.
