I see a lot of us posting pics of our goats looking as big as houses before they kid. I was thinking, do any of us have pics of goats that didn't look or show signs of being pregnant, and then kids happened? Kinda like that show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant". I love that show. Seriously, how do they not know?! But anyway, post pics of goats looking un-pregnant, and then tell us what they freshened. Think it could be fun :)

I think there was a thread about someone whod bought a goat at an auction and come out one day to a dried off kid with her

I had this happen with a horse once. It was very shocking. It turns out I had a young colt that I had not gelded yet. I did not think he was interested. well.......
Anyway the filly was a pure bred Arabian and very pretty.

:hide surprise

ETA: The mom was not my mare. Try explaining that one.

Lol, I havent bred my goats yet, but it did happen to a friends horse. Mare popped out a lil buckskin colt. She has the mare and a gelding. 6 months later she found out that a neighbor 4 miles down the road had a stud get loose and was out over night.....they found him in the field next to her pasture.

The closest I have come is a litter of 4 puppies that I had no idea were coming. Fox terrier with very long hair, 8 weeks before Christmas. That worked out very well. I have one goat that SHOULD be bred, but if she is, she could fall into this category, cause she sure doesn't look it.

I can help with this one! We got our 3 goats from a friend that was moving. Lily was pregnant, her sister Rose was not. A week and a half later Rose started to grow a small utter. I was thinking "hummm, that's weird." Started doing research, not finding much. 3 days later I was hanging out with everyone, nothing different, I left to go get my daughter from school, returned home and we went right out to the goat pen as usual, everyone acting pretty much the same when my daughter yelled "Mom what's wrong with Rose?" I look at her and there is a small bubble coming out. I yelled "she's having a baby, go get towels!" so she goes in to get them. I'm looking at this little bubble not thinking it looks right, and glance over at the goat house and there is a sopping wet baby laying in there. The bubble was the afterbirth. So my daughter comes out with a roll of paper towels and I'm holding this dripping wet baby, and I yelled "no real towels". She sees the baby and just stares in shock, while I'm still yelling "get some towels!" It was real exciting for a few moments! I called the girl I got them from and said "you'll never believe what I found today, and she couldn't believe it. Any way her is Pregnant Rose. She is the buskskin, she delivered 7 days later.

Bought this doe (top pic) in January and was told she had been bred to a Nubian buck in December. On February 20th she had a beautiful lilttle doeling! :ep.

We knew she was bred, but she showed no signs, and definitely didn't look like my other girl (second picture) who had over 3 weeks to go when this pic was taken last week!

I had this happend with my mare. She was with a stud and a couple other mares in the pasture. The other mares all had colts and nothing from Pammy. So we figured she's too old, didn't settle what ever. Then one morning mom goes out to feed the horse (they are hers) and she saw Pammy and there was a baby too!! :ep A beautiful black and white Appy. Sorry no pics.

Well, I had a doeling that wasn't supposed to be pregnant. About 2 months ago I poted "pregnant or just fat?" in the breeding forum. QueenMum was about the only person who voted for pregnant. lol. She had her baby on Easter Sunday. :) Big healthy 11lb doeling!
