Piglet with lice or mites

For mites or lice I would spend $2.75 or so for a quart of plain-jane motor oil, pour a little across the pig's shoulders and then pour a little down the base of their neck to the base of their tail. (Make a cross on them.) That oil will get all over them in about half an hour and will kill eggs and bugs without hurting your pig in the least.

Which ever method you do choose to use please please do not pour motor oil on any animal. When I worked at a vet office we would see "old time folk" doing this with dogs, hogs and cattle...it can potentially kill them. Also it could spread to your soil and vegetation, not good.

I would invest in either python dust or pour on ivermectin, make sure to repeat treatment in 10 to 14 days after first application.

Clean motor oil won't hurt your animals. I have never killed any animals doing it, my family has never had any animals die or even get sick as a result of doing it and no one I know has ever had any problems or trouble with using oil to treat mites or lice on their stock. You DON'T pour copious amounts on them, you drizzle some between their shoulders and down their spine.
It is an old time treatment and is a sight better than relying solely on chemicals.
