I am in good company...
:yesss:
I got an SD card, and move pictures from the internal storage to the card frequently. I move them to an external hard drive when I upgrade my phone.
Several people have mentioned external and/or physical drives. I keep multiple backups, all over the place, but it seems like every time I try to have a tangible backup I lose it in some kind of once-in-a-lifetime type of event. To limit such events, now I just duplicate duplicates of my digital life in the cloud.

Virginia is for Pasture Farmers!
I just want to write this number out it words:

Sixty-six-THOUSAND-five-hundred-sixty-eight.

Are you okay?? Do you need us to send help?

Obviously (I hope), I'm just playing with you, but NINETY-SIX-THOUSAND-FOUR-HUNDRED-EIGHTY-THREE is an impressive amount of anything!!

*nervous laughter* well, I did say it was an obscene amount...🫣😅

Oh, and that's just the good pictures worth posting!

....that actually makes it worse.... :hide

Most of the posts we all do are in the "Social" area at the bottom of the main page. Then go to the Journals -- SO MUCH there!
Here's mine:
Oh and the pics of people?! I mostly specialized in dogs and other animals. Most of my people shots were done with PBR at their World Finals when they were in Vegas. LOL Still animals in the shot!
I'm glad I read the top of the journal page! I've been thinking about changing my handle everywhere I'm Dogs Cows Chicken to Spotted Heifer as a means to manifesting Spotted Heifer Ranch and/or Ranch Services..

I should do that before I start my journal, I suppose.

I have thousands of photos on my phone, stored on an SD card. There are wildlife/nature photos of spiders, lizards, flowers, etc. My pets, aquariums, ponds all have albums. Each chicken has its own album, but for group shots I have an album for that.

Over on BYC I documented my hoop coop build in my journal thread with lots of photos of the process.
Last week I was tasked with eradicating mesquite trees on part of the ranch that hasn't been grasped in years. Before I was finished, I had dozens, if not hundreds of photos of grasses and weeds. ① please don't tell my boss that I took more pictures than the dozen or so I sent to him. I couldn't help myself! About an hour before sunset, you know... when the light is all Golden like warm honey... I switched to the "food" setting on my phone and started snapping away!
My chickens were not impressed to see me running to the coop at dusk to say goodnight. I've been trying to do/be better.

I have a lambing thread for each year. It’s simpler than a journal for each sheep.
My dogs are permanent until death do us part, so they get their own journal.

Maybe a calving thread would work best, since they get sold and don’t stick around for very long.

That's how I organize my opics in Google Photos. I start a new album titled "class of 202X " when the first calf arrives, and everything goes in there until the next first calf. If something special happens with non-calves, it goes into the "class of" album and into one that's more specific. For example: The ranch purchased 5 bulls from a single breeder this past breeding season. They are all in Class and in "Bulls." Bulls and nurse cows have their own albums. Cow albums are separated by herds/sets, currently two homegrown sets (red and black), a set bought bred from the sale barn, and a set bought bred to 4 of the 5 bulls mentioned above.
