Well, sheep update...
Last Monday, I was headed to visit my parents when I got the call that the sheep had run loose and a couple hours of searching, no sign of the sheep. If I'm being completely honest, I encouraged my car to go a little faster, and got home to join the search. We saw poop across the driveway, but no sign Monday. Checking the game camera SD card, only told us the sheep had gotten out only minutes after my mom had last seen them, and that they did go downhill. Tuesday came and after morning searching, I had to make a town trip. People who are debating getting more chickens, should not get sent to Tractor Supply when they have a sale on chicks. 16 chicks later, my parents will have some non-freeloaders this fall. An evening ride Tuesday after the town trip, as well as a drone search, and there were no signs of the sheep. Dare I say hope was fading. We left for some friends place Wednesday morning to help brand calves, and saw no sign of the sheep. I had to leave town to head for work that I was hoping to be present at Wednesday evening. My dad had a few scheduled meetings with different people, and was on a four wheeler surveying the property when finally they were spotted.
Needless to say, the sheep were put back into a small pen with hog panels.
But also with the excitement, I purchased a ram from a family friend on Thursday. Excited to raise his babies next year.
