Six piglets!
Two boys and four girls!
Pink is a boy, spotted is a girl. One black girl. Rest I'll have to check later.
Stacked some hay around the sides, added another tarp to cover the front more. Hopefully they will be ok during the night and mom stays still and doesn't smoosh any!

how adorable. why did you choose Vietnamese? how much does mom weigh? do they have their young fairly easily as a rule? is that a normal litter size? your video was too short. I could have watched that for awhile :)

Yea, pup kept barking and I kept telling her to shush, so a video didn't work out tonight.

Needed a small pig breed and these are common, other small pig breeds are a lot more pricey, might of been better, but rarely seen for sale here. Small pigs eat less, easier to pen and so on. Not less space, though. But that one is just me, I like to treat all animals in my care as spoiled pets. We just bought a 300ft fence roll. So their pen will be upgraded this weekend from a 24x35ft pen to a roughly 75ft square pen. Have the other fencing, so will add that on, too.
She had 4 last[first] time, it was still winter, 2 froze, 2 she squashed. She didn't need help last time nor this time. Hoping the piglets all survive the night. Only time will tell.
Not sure how many they have in an average litter, as long as they all live and do well, I don't care too much.
She's about 1.5yrs old, 30-35 pounds. But they keep growing up through 3-5 years of age. Who knows how big, or small, she'll end up.

All are still here and being oinkingly cute! :D
One girl oinked the whole time she was awake, had a lot to say, nicknamed Ms Chatterbox already.
Spotted girl is staying, DH decided last night that we need to keep some[I said just 1]. lol. Working on names for her.

hope I don't offend. are you keeping these pigs for meat? the idea of small pigs for meat is very appealing. it's just hubby & me. I would like a breed that isn't a threat to other livestock (chickens/goats), is fairly easy to house, and make good mothers. I know the Vietnamese were introduced here as pets - but I figure where they came from, they must have been meat pigs.

I have a chicken that talks incessantly like your ms. chatterbox. if nobody is around, she just talks to herself. her name is gabby. she can also be a bully - so when she's being ugly, I call her gabzilla. she knows her names. I like the animals that talk a lot. I have a cat that does that too. she was abused before we got her. she is a needy talker. sometimes i'm tempted to put a muffler on her.

glad your little piggy babies are doing good. i was reading where you had been struggling with your lambs. i haven't had to do the hard things yet (except a few hard time w/my chickens). i know the day will come.
