Hi, I've been breeding rabbits for the past year now and have had 3 successful litters from my first doe. Recently I decided I was going to get a second one, I already had a netherland dwarf buck, so I search for a doe and finally found a lovely year old black otter doe. I bred her may 28, so she should be due June 28, however I went out to feed everyone this morning and I noticed that she has started pulling out her fur! It's only day 10!! I did a bunch of research on false pregnancies in rabbits, but everything said that does will only start pulling their fur out on days 18-20, I'm kinda worried that something might be wrong.
Anyone have thoughts??

Every doe does it differently. I had one that would build a lovely nest the day after she was bred and pulled fur the day she kindled. Most of my experienced does pull fur the day of kindling, but if yours is pulling fur now, I would give her access to a nesting box just because she wants to build a nest. It does not mean anything in particular one way or the other.

Ok, I'll do that. Thank you very much

Had one do this with her first litter. Her 2nd litter was normal. If u give a box, make sure she doesn't soil it.

I would still give her a nest as though she is going to kindle normally. Our two does did weird thing the first time around, Sapphire pulled so much fur around day 20 (she lined her nest cage and food bowl :p) and then trampled and destroyed her nest only to rebuild it a week later. Our other doe made multiple nests though out the 30 days.

Our newest doe did pretty much the same thing as yours on day 10 and now at 29 day has made her nest and pulled more fur. No babies yet so we will see.
