Problem with shot

My hubby gave Oreo his shot while I held him. He pulled back on the needle like it says to do and there was no blood BUT after he pulled the needle out there was blood. I put pressure on the spot and it stopped. I put him back in his pen and will keep an eye on him BUT hubby thinks we used an old needle although there isn't any left over residue in the other needle I had in the top of the book case. He thinks there might be infection from the old needle. IF there might be anything, what should I watch for. Limping, swollen leg. Anything else? I don't have any antibiotics or anything else around since I am new to goats but should I get something to have on hand in cases like this?
Was told from now on the babies go to the vet because hubby isn't doing the shots any more. He really feels bad about this. THANKS for any help or suggestions. Deb

I would think there would be a little blood after, same as when we get a needle in our arm. Watch him for the next few days and if he acts off, get him checked out.

I am not worried about him but my hubby is worried he did something wrong and now something might happen to the little guy. I assured him it wouldn't and not to worry but also told him I would check with the experts on here. THANKS
