Hey all, I have noticed that the pulse on my charger has slowed down a bit - every3-4 seconds as opposed to every 1-2 seconds... What would be causing this? I have checked the line and there is nothing touching. Small area. 5 acre model. Still working however... Cold weather? Cloudy days?

Virginia is for Pasture Farmers!
Is it solar? Are you sure nothing anywhere is touching it?
How old is it?
Have you contacted the manufacturer for ideas?

My solar, only the strength goes down.

Yes, Solar... Checked the line again this AM and I could not find anything touching it anywhere. 8' ground in wet soil. The fence was working perfectly well with the light pulsing every 2 seconds or so... Now, I can hear the charge build and then the light pulses when it releases the charge at about every 10 seconds or so. Only 5 months old so it can't be the battery, unless it's a bad battery... I have an email out to the manufacturer and am waiting to hear.

I would guess that it might be related to the season. In fall, we don't just see shorter days (less sunlight hours), we also see a much less direct "hit" of the sun's rays in the Northern hemisphere. I think it has to do with the eliptical orbit we (Earth) have as we circle around the sun.

I used to use solar and found the later in the season (shorter days) I had the same problem. I tilted my charger so the panel could get more rays from the sun. The charger I had would run 21 days in total darkness once the battery was fully charged (so the instructions said. I never put it to a test) but every fall the pulses got farther and farther apart. Try adjusting your angle to the sun and see if things get better.
