Straw as you know our lists are pretty much the same. :)

I would add dairy/meat specifics and... if buying an older doe records how many litters and number of kids per litter...live/stillborn. How many needed to pulled for bottling feeding etc. This gives an idea of the does mothering ability. I wouldn't buy an animal that cannot mother well.

If buying a mature/proven buck.... depending on how many he's fathered... what does he produce? 50/50, mostly bucks, does? A buck that produces bucklings over and over....I pass.

Also check for wry-tail... I'm pretty sure it is a genetic issue and can be passed on. It is in chickens..I cull anything with wry-tail.

Mostly the same but I do have a fair amount more on mine. :) Go check your out. :)

Also that should all be covered in reproduction and I will bring my kidding sheets for does that covers ALL things birth so that's covered too. That way I know all about the buck's reproduction history and does kidding history.

Yes, I didn't put that on there because I didn't see a need to it. That's not something you miss or forget to look at.

I realize this is an old post, but I'm looking at NDs for the near (hopefully) future, and this list is a great place to start crackin down on what I need/want and things to look out for. Thanks for the comprehensive list! Very helpful for a newbie goat owner to start researching prospects!
