My sister bought a laser engraver recently so now we can make custom tags. I’m most of the way through my flock. Everyone is getting a new name tag!

Those tags are fantastic!!! WTG!!!

Got the OFA results back on my boy, Twist, today. His elbows and shoulders are normal (as expected) and his hips came back “Excellent”!

I picked up BoSe from the vet this morning and I gave it to all the ewes and lambs. The lambs also (finally) got tagged. I still have to do the rams/wethers, but I’ll save that for another day. They’re all fairly mild-mannered, but I didn’t feel like wrestling them after getting through all the others.

I locked the lambs in the creep while I did the ewes and there was so much screaming. My sister next door texted me to find out what the heck was going on.

Like when we get cows and calves in, lock them separate, work calves and then keep them apart for a little bit so we can match them when we let them back together... don't need to do that when the calves get tagged right off... but that hasn't happened this spring at all....

Oskar Biteyface chased off 10 vultures that were sunning themselves out in the field (not the field he is currently in) this morning. They weren’t after the lambs, but were sitting in the sun after gorging themselves on a dead dear in the ditch across the road.



I considered getting the house dogs to chase them off, but I decided I wanted to see OBF’s response. He did not disappoint.
