All the turkeys are in the freezer. Glad to have that project over with. I did feel bad killing the hen. She was sweet.

The biggest tom was 47.6lbs live.

Monster “helped” with the first turkey, but he ate so many scraps that he went into a turkey coma and went off to sleep it off for the remaining 2.

Meanwhile, the Shetland ram was tied up while I was moving the turkeys out of the barn. He got ticked off and somehow managed to smear his brand new red marking crayon all over his face. I don’t even know how he managed it since he was tied pretty tight to prevent his habit of butting the gate when he’s mad about being removed from the ewes.

I could have murdered him. He’s going to NAILE in a couple weeks. I took a scrub brush to his face and took it from blood red to a light pink.

You got a lot of turkey meat! That should feed you and family for awhile.

What did you use to scrub the red off your rams face? What a stinker to pull a stunt like that when he’s going to a Beauty Pageant!

Impressive set of horns 👍😁.

In first pic, the ear is a lovely stripe effect 🤣 high fashion.

But turkeys done -- what a job!! Looking good and probably will taste great! What kind were they? Lovely feathering.

I drenched him with the hose, dumped dawn dish soap on his head and used a scrub brush.

2 were Broad Breasted Bronze and 2 were Orlopp Bronze. Couldn’t even begin to tell you which was which.

I did laugh, but we are not friends right now. He’s been very rude this breeding season, smashing things, trying to butt me. He’d be much better loose in the field, but his group eats the least and I’d rather feed them hay right now then a bunch of bigger eaters.

I gave his whole body a rinse and he probably ruined his fleece overnight by rubbing on things or at least stained his sides.
