Know one was listed in the Directory at the Kinder goat Breeders Association. You could look there for some one in a near by State, also for the Pygmy breeders. There may be some one from here on the Pygmy goats:hu. I had to travel from Vermont to Pa. to get my Kinder goats, ( Fur Immer Farm, and they had pygmy goats also ). Hope this helped some !!??

Wow that was a very long drive for you. I looked up the KGBA and found listing in Ohio and Michigan and all are just over 4 hours away from me. How did the goats do with the travel back home? I have never transported an animal that far.

Oh it was a long trip, my sister and I drove 1 day to get there and see the babies, then get a hotel, get up the next am. and pick them up. They all did well. I had a cargo van and sat in the back with the goats while my sister drove all the way home. They knew that I was there for them !! Then I also heard that some one else in my area had 2 preg. does flown from Calf. to Boston and they drove from Boston to Vermont and I'm assuming they did alright also.
Bottom line is :celebrateI love my babies and now they're having babies,..... soooo worth it.!!

Good. :) Okay I feel better about transporting from so far away. My concern was the stress that puts on the animals but a 4 hour trip one way for them wouldn't be so bad I guess.

You may want to see if or what the breeder suggests to give to lessen the stress, I think electrolytes or some thing like that. Mine did just fine with out.

I think Kinders Korner is in Missouri
Kinder Korners hasn't been on in a long time so I don't know if they are actively breeding etc..
from their journal- I live in Southern IL right on the MO border

Here is their website- says it was updated 2015

Transporting does cause the animals stress even 10 miles
I've had a baby transported from OH to Raleigh area of NC about 12 hours
And we take most of ours to a show 5 hours away in a livestock trailer
We always give ours probiotics before and after and closely observe for diarrhea and upper respiratory stress signs of "shipping fever "

Very good advice. You never know which goat will get stressed. It is very individual. Almost any goat will have some form of adjustment issues. The number one issue would be a parasite bloom. (worms and also cocci)
We run our own fecals so we check the goats the day they come in and again in 4 days. We monitor their counts while in a minimum of 30 day quarantine. If you cannot do this or you are not skilled (in other words - new to learning fecal analysis) please take a sample to your vet 3-4 days after getting the goat home. Then 10 days to 2 weeks later repeat.

Some vets like them to be on LA200.

We give LA200 first snotty nose we see
Something minor can turn to pneumonia pretty quick if not tended too
