So I had one rabbit that I decided, ok, let's keep her. Well, I decided to put her up for sale last minute and got a call. I thought it was a little weird that not only they wanted to come right away, but that they also asked to pay $20 instead of $25 since they were coming from ___. Anyways, I clearly said "Look, this was the one I wanted to keep and everyones favorite. I will only sell to a pet home and want to get updates on how shes doing." Well they came in the end, and they seemed fine. The woman didn't really ask many questions, but the man was really nice, held her and laughed about how his old rabbit used to go out and come home all the time. Well, I contacted them that night to send them pictures, and got a response easily. When I tried to ask how she was a couple weeks later, nothing. Do you think she's ok?

It's not your rabbit, I'm pretty sure the customer has no obligation whatsoever to provide you with updates, pictures, christmas cards, whatever. They probably haven't responded for just that reason. I imagine that they might be a little put out by being bothered about it.

X2. If you decide to sell a rabbit, the buyer has no obligation to provide you with pictures. Once I sel a pet rabbit, I never see it again.

X3. Any that I sell, they are out of my life for good. And having encountered that type of request when I was searching for rabbits to BUY for my rabbitry, I quickly moved on to the next potential seller. No way I wanted to deal with a person that would be expecting updates and might not approve of how I was raising "their" rabbit.

My suggestion to you is to let it go. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and if it bothers you that much, consider which rabbits you feel OK selling in the future. Don't sell any you can't NOT know how they are doing.

On the positive side, it is nice to see you care that much about your rabbits. :)

Alright I got the point. I wasnt saying that I asked them for anything much, just an update to make sure she settled in well and there were no problems. I doubt they had a rabbitry, and if they did, I wouldnt have a problem with it. Its just too bad it was a last minute decision, or else I would have gave her to a friend. Regardless, I just hope theyre all happy wherever they have gone :)

I haven't done it yet, selling babies, and know it will be just as hard for me as it has been for you, but you just have to say, "I did the right thing, and they are going to be well taken care of". I know I update my breeder from time to time with stories and pictures of Kreacher and Dobby. Some people do, but others don't. I don't have to and my breeder doesn't expect me to, but she is thrilled with the updates, as I know you would be. It's tough sometimes. And your best bet to help ease the worry, is what you stated last. Hoping they are all happy wherever they have gone. :)
