I'm adding another buck to my grow out pens for the future. He's from a more local herd but his genetics check out. He's in with the mini saanen brat right now because he's flighty and needs a week or so to depressurize and she's annoying to the point...she's just the worst. Polar opposites.
Here's the buck's pedigree

My other grow out lamancha came with the nubian buckling I'd reserved before the cae incident. Nubians handle life poorly and I didn't want him to come without a penmate so we will eventually have Pete the L*S buck, Aramis the Whimsy Oak buck above, and this guy, who's name is Kenai, as our lamancha bucks kenai's goal will be to add bone, power, and strength back in case our goats veer to far to the diary side. He's very nice too, but he's black and too friendly to get pictures of anything but his face. He's wiiide and about 60+ pounds at 12 weeks.

I'll be keeping my junior bucks separate from my seniors for as long as I can.
We got two Nubian bucklings from Fox's Pride as I mentioned earlier. Probably too young to work this year. Nubian bucks are not as personable at first. Bilbo was eventually friendly when rut ended and he decided he respected me. They're not my favorite. The does are nice though and you need one to have the other.
Focusing on and keeping the future separate has been nice.

Betty the nubian had her doelings as I mentioned. They are tattooed, chipped, and disbudded now. Weird being able to tattoo at 10 days. Ears.

One doeling has four teats like a cow. She's got a home already and is going to be picked up on Thursday. I'll be keeping an eye on what mom produces next year. I sold Bilbo, but I can watch him too because he's only about half an hour away. He may be the sire of next year's nubian kids if my little guys are too little/I want them to be spared for the year.
