Same here. Just a little warmer by a few degrees, but frozen and miserable. Schools and businesses close. The sheriff even shut down some roads and was telling everyone to stay home. Temps in 30’s now and it has rained all night. Won’t stop until Thursday. Supposed to get 4”, so everything will be muddy slop. Nothing like a southern “mild” winter.

I got a round bale out of the back field Saturday so I wouldn’t have to fight mud and rain to go get it and backed it under one of those sheds I’m going to tear down. The sheep will run out of hay in the next few days, so at least I’m just a little more ready for it. Pouring rain again. Miserable next few days.

Oh man, take care. That's a lot of water for you and everything to be out in.

Baby buckling bonker burning day (last night). The six does will be done later this week.

I drove the truck out of the pasture and parked it in the garage with all the heated water bucket stuff and power cords this morning. The three year old thinks I pulled the stuck truck out with my bare hands. 😆

Keep him thinking you have supernatural powers as long as possible. My kids believed I had magic eyes in the back of my head because I knew what they were doing in the back seat while I was driving.

Hearing about the water freezing in the water tubs I just remembered that I have small propane burners that fit on the small propane tanks. I used them for burning off the rabbit cages. Maybe I can take them out and use them for melting the ice on top of the stock tanks! But I just learned on Cattle Today that diesel fuel gels in freezing temps and needs to get special treatment stuff added to the tanks. I wonder if propane does too. OTH, those little propane tanks are small enough to keep inside until needed.
