Forgot to mention. Since our well basically pumps up sewage that we filter and sterilize and that's electric dependent and our utility is slightly less than dependable, we purchased and installed a battery backup for the UV light system so if the power goes out it will not go off and potentially allowed contaminants in for the brief period our pressure tank tries to function. We're working on taking our house off grid as far as power so we can always have water. Mark is looking for a company that will let us purchase and install enough solar for our home and barn use.

This area is too crowded for people to have wells and septics and they don't want to admit it. My farm is basically in a suburban neighborhood (and a whole lot of the neighboring houses are just RV's and makeshift trailers and IDK where they potty). And they can't complain about the dogs barking through their plywood, tarp, and RV walls because they aren't supposed to be there.

My son in law has allergies to many things, nuts, the trees themselves, any wood from nut trees used for BBQ, cats make him unable to breathe, and the list goes on. Christmas has suddenly been moved to my house because my sister has cats. When she had her big house, he could sleep upstairs where the cats didn’t go and there was a large covered deck that everyone hung out on. But now with a small house and small porch, there is nowhere for him to get away from the cats.
I don’t even know what I’ll be cooking.

My son in law has allergies to many things, nuts, the trees themselves, any wood from nut trees used for BBQ, cats make him unable to breathe, and the list goes on. Christmas has suddenly been moved to my house because my sister has cats. Oh man, that's difficult. I hope you both can find a way. Sounds like it may have to be a short visit for him unless they can bring like a little camper or something for him to put up a safe zone. Allergies are natures joke on us.

Pot luck - everyone brings something. To be sure you have a balanced potluck, you can assign everyone something, i.e. mains, veg, salad, deserts, etc. Their choice what to make or bring but it must be in the category you assign.

They are coming to my house. I don’t have cats. My sister is mad, won’t come here for Christmas, she has not been here yet. I invited her for 2 years and gave up. She is bitter because her husband died, bitter because her house was destroyed by flood waters, bitter because FEMA is buying her house and 13 acres and now she is bitter because nobody is going to her house for Christmas. She told me she has nobody. So I guess she can sit at home Christmas and have herself a hateful bitter pity party. Her choice.

Freezer is not full. I gave friend Sarah and family meat and DD and family 45 pounds of meat. I still have plenty for myself, but room in the freezer! Son said he could cook a brisket. Son said he could use apple or cherry pellets in his Trager. Son in law can’t eat smoked meat from any acorn or nut wood.

Sorry about your sister. You've certainly been there for her, you've got it - she can have her own pitty party and she wants to join the rest of the world when she wants. She's definitely been through hell but time to climb out of that hole.
You and the rest of the family can have a great time.
